Responsibilities

• Monitor security platforms, including SIEM, endpoint protection, email security, vulnerability management, and threat-detection solutions.
• Review security alerts, system events, logs, and unusual activity to identify potential risks or operational issues.
• Investigate and document security events, escalating potential incidents according to established procedures.
• Conduct vulnerability scans across servers, workstations, network devices, cloud services, operating systems, and applications.
• Plan, test, deploy, validate, and document operating system, application, firmware, and security updates.
• Monitor patch compliance and coordinate corrective action for failed deployments or unresolved vulnerabilities.
• Support secure configurations and hardening activities for Windows servers, workstations, endpoints, cloud services, and network infrastructure.
• Assist with endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, access controls, Active Directory, Entra ID, privileged access, VPN, firewall, and related security administration.
• Support cybersecurity audits and risk assessments by gathering evidence, maintaining remediation records, and tracking findings and corrective actions.
• Participate in incident response activities, including alert triage, evidence collection, containment support, root-cause documentation, and remediation tracking.
• Maintain accurate security documentation, inventories, procedures, dashboards, metrics, and configuration records.
• Stay informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, security tools, and cybersecurity administration practices.

About the Role

EECU is seeking a System Security Administrator II to support the security, availability, and integrity of our technology environment. This hands-on role performs cybersecurity administration, security monitoring, vulnerability management, patch administration, incident response support, and security control documentation.

Working within IT Operations, this position partners with Information Security, infrastructure and application administrators, vendors, and business stakeholders to identify and address cybersecurity risks while supporting reliable technology operations and member service delivery.

Location/Schedule:

• Hybrid schedule with 3 days/week at our corporate office in Fort Worth, TX after the successful completion of 6 months in the role.
• Friday 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor security platforms, including SIEM, endpoint protection, email security, vulnerability management, and threat-detection solutions.
• Review security alerts, system events, logs, and unusual activity to identify potential risks or operational issues.
• Investigate and document security events, escalating potential incidents according to established procedures.

• Help prioritize and coordinate vulnerability remediation based on severity, risk, exploitability, and business impact.
• Plan, test, deploy, validate, and document operating system, application, firmware, and security updates.
• Monitor patch compliance and coordinate corrective action for failed deployments or unresolved vulnerabilities.
• Support secure configurations and hardening activities for Windows servers, workstations, endpoints, cloud services, and network infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in information technology, cybersecurity operations, systems administration, network administration, endpoint administration, help desk escalation support, or a related technical role.
• Experience supporting Windows server and workstation environments, Active Directory, patching, vulnerability remediation, endpoint protection, security ticketing, and technical documentation is preferred.
• Ability to analyze security alerts, troubleshoot technical issues, document findings clearly, and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, dependability, adaptability, and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and collaborate effectively in a regulated financial-services environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related field.
• Experience in financial services or credit union environments.
