The CyLab Security and Privacy Institute at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a distinguished faculty systems scientist to teach and conduct research in the areas of usable privacy, security, and technology ethics.
CyLab aims to catalyze, support, promote, and strengthen collaborative research and education in security and privacy across various departments and disciplines. It seeks to achieve significant impacts on research, education, public policy, and practice. As a university-wide organization, CyLab includes over three dozen core faculty and their students, along with more than 100 affiliated faculty members. New faculty will be expected to contribute to and benefit from the collaborative spirit that defines Carnegie Mellon University and CyLab.
Successful applicants will be appointed within CyLab, in the College of Engineering, with potential affiliate faculty or similar appointments in other departments.
