Job summary

Penn State University’s Applied Research Laboratory seeks a Systems Research and Development Engineer to join the ASE Department in State College, PA. This on-site role focuses on rapid development of complex engineering systems with cross-disciplinary integration.

The candidate will work with engineers, define architectures, and contribute to the DoD lifecycle while traveling as needed. A clear path exists for higher-level responsibilities with supervision and mentorship opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science required.
• 5+ years of relevant experience for higher level.
• U.S. citizen to apply and ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interface with project stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure success.
• Work with senior engineers and subject matter experts.
• Define system control and data architectures.
• Perform systems engineering activities across DoD product lifecycle.
• Travel for stakeholder engagements as needed.
