We're now looking for a Systems Project Engineer to join the team, reporting to the Lead Engineer and taking ownership of the execution of awarded systems and instrumentation contracts. Acting as the technical focal point once a contract has been secured, you'll work closely with customers, systems integrators, suppliers and internal teams to transform approved bid concepts into detailed engineering solutions and successfully deliver projects through design, manufacture, testing, FAT, SAT and final acceptance. This is a varied role that combines project execution, engineering design, stakeholder management and customer engagement.

We're looking for someone who understands the full project lifecycle, has a good grasp of electronics and instrumentation systems, and can confidently influence customers, suppliers, integrators and internal stakeholders to drive projects to a successful conclusion.

What You’ll Do
  • Take ownership of projects once contracts have been awarded, driving execution from project kick‑off through to final customer acceptance.
  • Translate approved bid designs into detailed engineering deliverables, including drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs), configurations, wiring details, technical calculations and supporting documentation.
  • Create and modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Maintain design integrity and configuration control, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with project requirements and controlled management of design changes through the Design Authority process.
  • Lead customer kick‑off meetings and act as a key technical contact throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate with systems integrators and suppliers, obtaining quotations, clarifying technical requirements and ensuring solutions are delivered to specification.
  • Support technical design reviews, implementing review actions and ensuring designs are released in a controlled manner for manufacture.
  • Develop and maintain project test plans and acceptance criteria, supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning activities and NCR resolution.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Commercial teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor engineering progress, identify risks early and support mitigation activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Visit systems integrators and customer sites across the Houston area, with occasional travel further afield as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned reviews and updates to engineering standards and design libraries.
What We’re Looking For
  • Good electrical knowledge and the ability to understand and discuss instrumentation, electrical interfaces and system architectures.
  • Electrical Engineer is preferred but not required; a solid technical understanding of electrical engineering is important.
  • Extensive Experience as a Project Engineer, Systems Engineer or similar engineering role delivering complex technical projects.
  • Strong understanding of the complete engineering project lifecycle, from contract award and detailed design through manufacture, testing, installation and customer acceptance.
  • Experience producing engineering drawings, technical calculations, Bills of Materials and controlled engineering documentation.
  • Experience working within configuration‑controlled environments, including document control and engineering change processes.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and persuasion skills, both internally and externally.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, FAT, SAT, commissioning or field installation activities.
  • Ability to identify, assess and manage technical and project risks.
  • Comfortable working directly with customers, suppliers and systems integration partners.
  • Desirable: Experience Electrical Engineering AutoCAD experience is highly desirable – however training can be provided.
