Job summary

AMD in Austin is seeking a dynamic Systems Design Engineer to drive performance modeling and power management in next-generation products. You will lead data-driven system modeling efforts that forecast performance across segments and time horizons, collaborating with product planning and multiple engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in electrical or computer engineering.
  • Experience with performance modeling and power management.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in C/C++, Python, Perl, Ruby.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and automating System Performance & Performance/Watt Modeling.
  • Directing system-level data collection to feed performance & performance/watt modeling.
  • Forecasting system performance across segments and competitive architectures with a time horizon of 5+ years.
  • Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s system performance and performance/watt capabilities.
  • Working closely with product planning teams to define future system performance requirements.
  • Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks.
  • Leading collaborative approach with multiple teams including future workloads.
