Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join the Performance Engineering team supporting NASA COSMOS under MCCS, TS, and SVMF. You will work with NASA and software teams to assess operation through performance metrics, addressing non-functional requirements during launch, rendezvous, and landing phases.

You will collect resource data from labs and production environments, analyze trends, and support mission-critical testing, benchmarking, and integration tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS/Engineering/IT/MIS/Math and 2–5 years of experience
• Experience with scripting and automation
• Experience with SDLC and software development processes
• Willingness to support real-time mission ops during flexible shifts
• Ability to obtain NASA PIV badge and work in NASA-related environment

Responsibilities

• Measure and evaluate system performance characteristics with COSMOS Platform/OS teams
• Collaborate with NASA customer, systems engineers, and software engineers
• Participate in mission systems failure and anomaly investigations
• Support real-time mission activities and daily operations meetings
• Pursue integration tasks within Integration Services to meet goals
