Responsibilities

The Systems Operations Specialist is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, support, and improvement of software applications post-deployment. Their primary role is to ensure applications operate smoothly, remain functional, and meet user needs, ensuring efficiency, security, and currency.

• Identify and resolve bugs, glitches, and performance issues, including troubleshooting and problem correction.
• Apply updates, patches, and hotfixes to maintain security standards and functionality.
• Monitor application performance to ensure efficiency, response time, and resource usage are optimal.
• Provide technical support to users, resolving issues and advising on usage.
• Implement minor enhancements or features as requested, improving user experience.
• Maintain documentation related to application processes, fixes, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure application security compliance and protect against vulnerabilities.
• Verify compatibility with new OS, browsers, hardware, and integrated software.
• Implement data backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with development teams for understanding architecture and codebase when needed.
• Manage application changes carefully to avoid disruptions, including testing and version control.

*Position contingent upon Spring 2025 contract award*

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.
• BA/BS with 5+ years of experience; Masters with 3+ years; additional experience may substitute for degree.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, and familiarity with related technologies.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication with users and stakeholders.
• Ability to coordinate with various teams on maintenance and updates.
