RTX is seeking a Systems Operations Engineer for the Space Intelligence program in Springfield, VA. This onsite role supports operational readiness, system availability, anomaly resolution, and baseline installations in a mission-critical environment.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, comfortable troubleshooting and reporting on performance metrics, and possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. U.S.

• Experience in systems engineering, particularly in operations and maintenance environments.
• Experience troubleshooting complex systems and supporting operational recovery.
• Experience working independently and making sound technical decisions.
• Active and transferable DoD TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Operations Engineer supporting one of our premier programs within Raytheon, an RTX Business, in the Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (SISR) business unit. As part of the Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) organization, your experience with system operations, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and direct collaboration with contractors and government personnel will be critical to mission success. You will support operational readiness, system availability, anomaly resolution, and baseline installations in a mission‑critical environment. The work is on‑site in Springfield, VA.

What You Will Do

• Experience troubleshooting complex systems and supporting operational recovery

Qualifications We Prefer

• Experience working in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment, Experience in satellite ground system development or operations
• Experience in relevant project domains, such as mission management ground systems or space-based Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms
• Experience working in Linux environments, particularly Red Hat, Experience with programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python
• Experience with cloud environments and modern infrastructure,
• Experience with Oracle or similar database technologies
