General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a seasoned SYSTEMS/NETWORK ENGINEER SME with over 20 years of hands-on experience, ideally in an intelligence environment. Candidates should be proficient with CISCO switches/routers/firewalls, Dell servers, and security appliances, and able to use Wireshark and Tripwire for analysis.

The role requires DoW security awareness, network hardening, and the ability to design rack configurations and network diagrams. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level technical understanding expected; hands-on network engineering experience required.
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is mandatory.
• Must be US citizen and able to obtain and maintain necessary clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement rack configurations, diagrams and network layouts.
• Conduct network security hardening and monitoring across Cisco switches/routers/firewalls.
• Troubleshoot networks with tools like Wireshark; assess traffic and repair configurations.
• Coordinate with teams for network diagrams in Visio/PowerPoint/Excel.
• Support DoW environments and network as a service architectures.

Job Description:

SYSTEMS/NETWORK ENGINEER SME

A seasoned network engineer with over 20 hands on years’ experience preferably in an intelligence community environment. The candidate should have experience with CISCO switches, routers and firewalls, dell and other servers, network laptops, network debug and analysis tools such as Wirehsark and Tripwire. The candidate should also have experience with devices such as Palo Alto, Haipe or other security appliances.

Experience Should Also Include:

• Network security hardening experience
• Specific knowledge of CISCO switches, routers and firewalls to include the Cisco 9300 series switches
• Demonstrated ability to design and develop rack configurations drawings and network diagrams
• Expertise and knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, security appliances and architectures of network as a service
• Network security and network hardening experience in DoW environments
• Support for SSP development
• Network Troubleshooting
  • Evaluation of message receiving functions
  • Assessment of Acks and Nacks
  • Ability to understand specific functions
  • Drawing and configuration of racks
  • Assess if network is configured correctly
  • Review firewall traffic (use of Packet Tools and Tripwire)
  • Tools: Wireshark and others
  • Ability to determine which side of the network problem is from a connection standpoint
• Network Requirements Evaluation and developing network diagrams in Visio, PowerPoint and Excel
• Physical Network Construction (installation of switches, fiber, cables security devices and more) on SERD for SCS/ESB
• Assistance to tamper and concealment group in assessing needs for design and deployed network
• HAIPE MTU assessment and review
• Fiber installation and removal
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence and similar tools

Candidate must interact well as an individual contributor or member of a focused team.

The likely salary range for this position is $164,382 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
