Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Network Engineer to support an Intelligence Community customer site in Springfield, VA. You will manage WAN/LAN/CAN networks across multiple security domains, drive network modernization, and ensure mission-critical operations.

Required: TS/SCI with Poly, BS or equivalent, 8+ years of hands-on network experience, IAT II cert, and DoD architecture knowledge. Travel ~25%. US citizenship required.

Qualifications

• 4+ years supporting large-scale enterprise or global networks in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with Juniper devices (MX/EX/SRX) and cryptographic devices KG-175G/X, KG-245A/X.
• Proficiency with network analysis tools (HP/Microfocus NA/NNM, Juniper Secure Analytics, Infoblox, Riverbed).
• Experience with Juniper firewall/VPN (SRX).
• Experience supporting IP services for NIPRNET, SIPRNET, JWICS.

GDIT has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Network Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community customer’s wide-area (WAN), local-area (LAN), and campus-area (CAN) networks across multiple security domains. In this role, you will support new engineering initiatives, lead efforts around network modernization, and ensure the sustained operation of mission‑critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate system maintenance, monitoring, and installation activities across diverse WAN/LAN environments and technologies.
• Research, recommend, and implement enterprise network capabilities and enhancements aligned with mission and business objectives.

• Recommend upgrades and changes aligned with industry standards and best practices.
• Adhere to all customer network security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Represent customer requirements and priorities during technical exchanges with partner agencies.

Required Qualifications

• Working knowledge of DoD Architecture Framework and related DoW network architecture guidance
• Experience with Juniper network devices (MX, EX, SRX) and cryptographic devices (KG‑175G/X, KG‑245A/X)

• Strong understanding of OSPF, BGP, MPLS, RSVP/LDP Layer 2/3 VPNs, VRFs, IKE/IPSec, GRE tunnels, MTU, FTP, and routing policy frameworks

• Professional certifications such as JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, CCNP, CCVP, CCNA, or CCDP

The likely salary range for this position is $123,250 - $166,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
