Job summary

United Contractor Services, LLC is seeking a Systems and Network Administrator to keep our IT environment running across offices and jobsite trailers. You will manage user accounts, devices, and cloud resources, while configuring network hardware and ensuring secure, reliable connectivity for staff and field teams.

You will work with Entra ID, Intune, Azure, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and VLANs, delivering end-user support and proactive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Technical aptitude with hardware/software basics; SQL a big plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra, Intune, and Azure required.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN; hands-on device config.

Responsibilities

• Manage user accounts, groups, licensing, and access in Microsoft Entra ID.
• Handle devices in Microsoft Intune – enrollment, compliance, app deployment, profiles.
• Support Azure-hosted resources with senior IT staff.
• Set up and configure network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless).
• Configure VLANs, DHCP, DNS, VPN across regional offices.
• Stand up network infrastructure at new locations and trailers.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot connectivity for office and field users.
• Keep OS, apps, firmware, and patches current; schedule updates.
• Run database queries and pull reporting as needed.
• Triage escalations, diagnose hardware/software/network issues.
• Build, configure, deploy workstations for new hires.
• Inspect and track IT assets; train employees on software.

Responsibilities

The Systems and Network Administrator keeps our technology environment running and serves as the go-to technical resource for staff across the company. It's a mix of hands-on systems work, backend network setup and configuration, and end-user support, with room to grow inside the IT Department.

• Manage user accounts, groups, licensing, and access in Microsoft Entra ID, including onboarding and offboarding
• Handle company devices in Microsoft Intune - enrollment, compliance policies, app deployment, and configuration profiles
• Support Azure-hosted resources alongside senior IT staff
• Set up and configure network hardware including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points
• Configure and maintain VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and VPN connectivity across regional offices
• Stand up network infrastructure at new office locations and jobsite trailers, coordinating with vendors and ISPs on circuits and cabling
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues affecting office and field users
• Keep operating systems, applications, firmware, and security patches current, scheduling updates to stay out of the way of daily operations
• Run database queries and pull reporting and data as needed
• Take escalations from the helpdesk, troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and pass along what needs a higher level
• Build, configure, and deploy workstations for new hires
• Inspect company computer equipment and track IT assets across our regional offices
• Train employees on company software and basic computer skills, explaining technical concepts in plain language
• Work with the IT Department and staff company-wide to deliver responsive support
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of computer hardware and software. SQL experience is a big plus. Experience directly using Microsoft Entra, Intune, and Azure are required.
• Networking Knowledge: Working understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, and VPN. Hands-on experience configuring switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Attention to Detail: Ensure accurate setup and configuration of workstations and network equipment.
• Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• Team Player: Collaborate with colleagues to provide excellent support.
