Job summary

Job description

As a Systems Manager, you have the opportunity to contribute to our legacy by being involved in the construction process from start to finish, utilizing your knowledge to drive successful project completion. You will be engaged in all aspects of MEP, from submittal to project close-out, including Low Voltage, Security, Fire Protection Systems, Controls, and other critical MEP systems that enable our clients to excel in their industries.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyze contract documents for constructability, code compliance, and functionality.
  2. Lead MEP trade 3D coordination meetings and oversee the approval process for coordinated drawings.
  3. Guide and monitor MEP trade coordination and installation on-site.
  4. Manage MEP trade material submittals in accordance with contract documents.
  5. Track MEP trade materials and maintain procurement documentation.
  6. Develop, monitor, and maintain the MEP schedule in collaboration with the project field supervision team.
  7. Review field installations for quality and compliance.
  8. Manage testing and commissioning efforts.
  9. Review and advise on MEP requisitions and contract changes.
  10. Participate in staff training and development initiatives.
  11. Understand MCA labor rates and NECA factors when reviewing proposals and change orders.
  12. Promote an environment of diversity, inclusion, and safety through leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical, or fire protection/life safety engineering, construction management, or related discipline OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction and managing MEP trades, preferably with a general contractor.
  • Experience leading teams and working within MEP design review, drawing supervision, submittal review, field inspections, and testing & commissioning.
  • Experience on large-scale construction projects with MEP trade-specific expertise.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership in attracting, developing, and engaging diverse talent, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture based on trust and respect.
  • Ability to mitigate risk proactively and reduce change order exposures.
  • Adaptability to changes during different construction phases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • P6 experience.
  • Procore experience.
