What’s the position?

Hard Rock Digital is seeking an experienced Systems Manager to lead our core systems administration team. This role sits within IT Operations and reports directly to the Director of IT. You will manage a team of systems administrators responsible for the health, security, and scalability of our identity, endpoint, and cloud infrastructure, while helping mature systems operations to support a growing global workforce of 1,300+ employees.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
  • Manage and mentor a team of systems administrators, setting priorities, reviewing work, and supporting their professional growth.

  • Establish clear ownership and escalation paths across systems administration functions.

  • Partner with the Director of IT on staffing, performance management, and team development planning.

Systems & Infrastructure Operations
  • Oversee administration of core identity, directory, and endpoint management platforms.

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of systems infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Drive standardization of configuration, patching, and lifecycle management practices across the systems environment.

  • Own incident and problem management for systems-level outages, coordinating cross-functional response when needed.

Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure systems operations align with audit, access control, and compliance requirements of a heavily regulated gaming environment.

  • Support access reviews, control testing, and evidence gathering for internal and external audits.

  • Maintain documentation of systems architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with security, DevOps, and application teams on infrastructure requirements for new initiatives and integrations.

  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex systems issues beyond front-line support.

  • Represent the systems function in planning discussions for company-wide technology rollouts.

What are we looking for?
  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration or systems engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership or team-lead capacity.

  • Strong experience with enterprise identity and directory platforms, including user/group lifecycle management, authentication, and access policy administration.

  • Experience with endpoint/device management platforms across macOS and Windows fleets.

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure administration (major cloud provider platforms, containerized services, secrets management).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop a technical team.

  • Comfort working in a regulated environment, with experience supporting audit and compliance requirements.

  • Strong troubleshooting instincts across identity, network, endpoint, and infrastructure layers.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing systems supporting a global, multi-region workforce.

  • Experience with ITSM/ticketing platforms and incident management processes.

  • Familiarity with scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for operational efficiency.

  • Background in gaming, sports betting, or another highly regulated industry.

Key Competencies
  • Strong people leadership and coaching ability

  • Sound judgment around security, privacy, and compliance trade-offs

  • Excellent documentation and technical writing abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across a team

  • Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams

  • Calm, structured approach to incident response

Working Conditions
  • Fully remote position, based anywhere in the United States

  • Standard business hours with occasional flexibility for maintenance and releases

  • Some after-hours work required for major deployments or incident response

  • Coordination with global teams across multiple time zones
