Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden seeks a Systems Librarian for the LuEsther T. Mertz Library to manage the library's systems infrastructure, applications, hardware, web services, and discovery tools, ensuring reliability and interoperability.

The role collaborates with IT and vendors to support researchers, botanists, and scholars worldwide. The Systems Librarian will evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, for metadata management, discovery, and workflow optimization, while

Qualifications

Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
Demonstrated knowledge of ILS, discovery platforms, ERM systems, and web-based library services.
Familiarity with metadata standards and schemas; ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

Administer and integrate core library systems and related services.
Collaborate with IT, staff, and vendors to support library technologies and workflows.
Collect and report system usage and performance metrics for planning.
