Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Level4 Systems Integration and Test Engineer to lead verification and validation of GNSS/SBAS solutions. You will coordinate across software, hardware, RF, and mission ops teams, mentor juniors, and communicate risks to customers and subcontractors.

The role emphasizes rigorous systems engineering, secure networking, and adherence to development assurance guidelines for high-reliability navigation capabilities for our commercial customers.

Qualifications

  • Expert GNSS/PNT or SBAS domain experience.
  • Terrestrial and satellite networking experience.
  • Experience with Safety of Life processes.
  • Requirements verification and V&V testing with customer witnesses.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% (AU and NZ sites).
  • Cyber security knowledge; design for security and hardening.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in a global virtual team.

Responsibilities

  • Software Integration and Test Support – develop and execute system design, cybersecurity requirements, and implementation plans for GNSS/SBAS hardware and software.
  • Plan system integration and test procedures; identify and resolve issues; analyze data to support verification.
  • Cross-disciplinary coordination with software, hardware, RF, electrical and mission operations teams to resolve integration issues.
  • Mentorship and expertise – provide technical guidance to junior engineers and serve as SME on GNSS/SBAS.
  • Stakeholder interaction – communicate status, risks and technical findings to customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain integration for subsystems and systems; derive testability requirements and prepare test plans.
  • Write discrepancy reports and perform integration regression testing to verify fixes.

LockheedMartinSpace is seeking a Level4 Systems Integration and Test Engineer to lead the verification and validation of the advanced Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) solutions. The role involves applying rigorous systems engineering and reliable and secured networking techniques, ensuring compliance with industry standard development assurance guidelines, and delivering high reliability navigation capabilities for our commercial customers.



  • Software Integration and Test Support – Develop and execute system design, cybersecurity requirements, and implementation plans for GNSS/SBAS hardware and software.

  • Planning, system level integration and test procedure/script development, problem identification/isolation, resolution planning/prioritization/tracking, likely some significant analysis of collected data to support requirements verification, etc.

  • Cross Disciplinary Coordination – Work closely with software, hardware, RF, electrical, and mission operations teams to resolve integration issues.

  • Mentorship & Expertise – Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and serve as a subject matter expert on GNSS/SBAS technologies.

  • Stakeholder Interaction – Communicate status, risks, and technical findings to customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.


Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.


Basic Qualifications


  • Expert Level GNSS/PNT or SBAS Domain experience.

  • Terrestrial and satellite networking experience

  • Experience with Safety of Life Processes

  • Requirements verification and Test planning (V&V), test procedure development and execution in front of customer witnesses.

  • Travel to Au and NZ sites. 25%

  • Cyber security knowledge – Design for security, hardening, etc

  • Able to communicate in written and verbal form in a virtual, global team


Strong on Documentation such as subsystem network design documents, test plans, maintenance procedures, etc.


Desired Skills


  • Assurance Standards Application – Apply SAEARP4754A, SAEARP4761, RTCADO 178C, DO 278A, and/or DO 254 as appropriate to ensure safety, reliability, and airworthiness.

  • Risk & Safety Analysis – Conduct hazard assessments, FMEA, and other safety analyses; mitigate technical and program risks.


Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
