Job summary

Austin Sensing Company is seeking a Systems Integration and Test Engineer to bring hardware, firmware, and software together into reliable systems. You will own integration testing, verify interfaces, and develop automated test setups to ensure products meet requirements before shipment.

The role requires hands-on experience across hardware and software domains, strong scripting in Python, and the ability to collaborate with electrical, RF, FPGA, embedded, and software teams.

Qualifications

• Experience integrating hardware, firmware, and software into complete systems.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot interfaces across disciplines.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.
• Experience with lab equipment and test benches.
• Familiarity with embedded Linux and networking.

Responsibilities

• Integrate sensor hardware, embedded processors, firmware, networking, and application software into complete systems.
• Develop system test plans and acceptance criteria based on product requirements.
• Verify interfaces, data flow, timing, synchronization, and configuration across subsystems.
• Build test fixtures, automated scripts, and diagnostic tools for repeatable integration and regression testing.
• Test startup, shutdown, firmware updates, fault recovery, and behavior during power or network interruptions.
• Measure system throughput, latency, data integrity, and stability under representative operating loads.
• Debug failures across hardware and software, isolate root causes, and provide findings to engineers.
• Maintain test configurations and records that identify hardware revisions, software versions, and results.
• Work with manufacturing to develop end-of-line tests and pass/fail criteria.
• Verify fixes and releases before production or customer deployment.
• Collaborate with field test and deployment engineers to reproduce issues.
