Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Integration Engineer SSM for ISS Visiting Vehicles to join our JETS II contract team at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the Communications and Tracking Sub-Systems of the ISS Visiting Vehicle Sub-Systems.
  2. Assess design compliance of the ISS Level 2 requirements to commercial providers.
  3. Maintain and update ISS Level 2 requirements, including Verification and Interface Requirements Documents.
  4. Track and maintain requirement documents on the task schedule.
  5. Support ISS verification activities, including verification objectives, procedures, testing development, and reviewing Verification Completion Notices (VCNs).
  6. Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages for architecture, design, verification/validation, operations, and engineering.
  7. Conduct product lifecycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification, and validation activities.
  8. Review verification and validation reports for compliance.
  9. Participate in system requirements reviews, design reviews, and critical design reviews.
  10. Perform and review system architecture trade studies and analyses affecting electrical design and performance.
  11. Perform other duties as required.
  12. Maintain good communication and organizational skills; work effectively in a team environment.
Qualifications

This position is posted at multiple levels. Depending on experience and business needs, candidates at any level may be considered.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of related experience.
  • Location: on-site with situational telework options.
  • Knowledge of digital and analog RF communication systems, including RF basics, propagation, antennas, and modulation.
  • Understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools, and technologies, including model-based systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes for developing test requirements.
  • Experience with space hardware concepts, mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings, and materials.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and present verbally in meetings.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of Flight Hardware and processes/paperwork.
