We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Integration Engineer for Gateway C&T Systems to join our team with Bastion, a teammate company.

The Systems Integration Engineer for Gateway C&T Systems will:

  1. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for the Communications and Tracking Sub-Systems of the Gateway Level 2 Sub-Systems
  2. Assess design compliance of the Gateway Level 2 requirements to commercial providers
  3. Maintain and update Gateway Level 2 requirements including Verification Requirements and Interface Requirements Documents
  4. Track and maintain requirement documents on task schedule
  5. Support the Gateway verification activities including verification objectives and procedures, end to end testing development and reviewing Verification Completion Notices (VCNs)
  6. Develop and support sub-project requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, operations, and sustaining engineering
  7. Conduct product life cycle reviews, coordinate integration, verification and validation activities
  8. Review verification and validation reports to verify compliance with requirements
  9. Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews
  10. Perform and review system level architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall electrical design and performance
  11. Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  12. Perform other duties as required


Requisition Qualifications:

  1. Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  2. BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school
  3. On location position - situational telework only
  4. Knowledge and understanding of digital and analog RF communication systems such as RF basics, radio propagation, antennas, and modulation
  5. Knowledge and understanding of SE&I processes, methodologies, tools and technologies including model based systems engineering
  6. Knowledge of test principles, tools, and processes needed to develop test requirements
  7. Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, and material selection.
  8. Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
  9. Able to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision
  10. Experience working in a team environment


Requisition Preferences:

  1. Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork
  2. Experience with NASA processes

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
