This role involves working with a Systems Integration Lab (SIL) performing activities related to testing and validation of C5ISR systems for Army ground vehicles. It is a hands-on role primarily conducted within a lab environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Identify, engineer, implement, and verify new designs and configurations of system integration benches, test racks, cables, and harnesses to improve usability and maintainability.
- Ensure system integration benches are fully functional and reflect current configurations to support testing of system software versions for proper functionality and interoperability.
- Troubleshoot errors or faults in system integration benches and develop solutions.
- Interface with Army and DoD program offices to understand system interoperability with vehicle platforms.
- Provide support to system testers to facilitate effective and efficient testing.
- Support electrical, mechanical, and software aspects of Combat Vehicle system bench planning, design, development, and execution.
- Collaborate with the Army customer and DCS Engineers in a team environment.
- Assist in the procurement or construction of materials or components for the lab.
- Maintain configuration management of the lab, updating drawings as needed.
- Perform mechanical assembly as required.
- Coordinate with government personnel for planning and executing system bench activities.
- Maintain current system bench configurations and assets.
- Develop familiarity with various C5ISR and combat vehicle subsystems.
Required Skills:
- U.S. Citizenship due to customer-related requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN bus, Ethernet, Serial, RS-10, RS-232, etc.).
- Interest in technical workings and interfaces within complex systems.
- Customer service mentality and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work on-site and in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong sense of duty, responsibility, and initiative.
- Ability to travel (<5%).
Desired Skills:
- Experience with embedded vehicle computer systems and familiarity with Systems and Software Engineering processes.
- Knowledge of DoD C4ISR Systems and military communications equipment for Ground Combat Vehicles.
- Experience with US Army Ground Combat Vehicle System Electronics Hardware and Software, including Simulation and Emulation.
- Aspirations for management roles, with experience in team leadership, contract management, project finances, and recruiting.
