Job summary

Benchmark in Minnesota is seeking a detail-oriented assembler to prepare products for systems level assembly, perform unpacking, setup, final packaging, and repair as required.

You will verify kits, enter batch information, label items, and use required tooling under supervision. The role includes data entry into PFS/Baan, mentoring peers, and contributing to continuous improvement in a 24/7 global operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 1+ years of experience in basic SI assembly.
• Good component recognition skills.
• Understanding of basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Accesses the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment.
• Verifies kits, enters Batch lot information, package and label accessory items according to documented instructions.
• Uses appropriate mats and all required tooling.
• Checks equipment to ensure proper performance.
• Uses manufacturing routings and process instructions under close supervision.
• May assemble a variety of systems integration subassemblies.
• Notifies leadership of any shutdown situations.
• Enters data into Process Feedback System (PFS) and links subassemblies to final unit.
• Enters quantities into Operations Complete (Baan) when required.
• All employees are responsible for the quality of their work to ensure BEI meets or exceeds Customer Satisfaction.
• Mentor and assist lesser qualified operators.
• Build subassemblies and add labels per manufacturing instructions and schematic drawings.
• Perform systems integration specific hand solder and inspection operations per documented instructions.
• Perform F-cert function to ensure final units have passed through all necessary operations.
• Perform final inspection of unit to ensure there are no visible defects or fingerprints and wipe down unit as needed.
• Add user manuals, accessory packs, cables, labels, etc. per documented instructions.
• May assist manufacturing engineering in basic prototype and pre-production builds.
• Use manufacturing routings and process instructions under moderate supervision.
• Mentor other co-workers in assembly activities.
