Job summary

Peraton seeks a Systems Integration and Test Engineer for our White Sands Complex, Las Cruces, NM. You will focus on software testing for a new ground system supporting NASA’s return to the moon, collaborating across departments to sustain software and hardware within NSN networks.

You will join Peraton as prime contractor on SENSE, supporting NASA mission-critical space-ground communications and system engineering across multiple programs.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience as stated: BS/BA with 2 years' experience, AS/AA with 4 years' experience, or 6+ years without a degree.
• Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and Python.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; Interim Secret acceptable to start.
• Must be a US Citizen and able to access government worksites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and track software test procedures and plans for verification of requirements.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure successful software fixes and updates.
• Lead working groups to design scenarios, procedures, documentation, and operator training.
• Adhere to NASA System Engineering and Management policies and contribute to milestone reviews with NASA.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Education/Experience - degree in engineering, sciences, or other related technical field and related experience as follows: BS/BA degree and 2 years’ experience, AS/AA degree and 4 years’ experience; without a degree, 6+ years of related experience is required.


• Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle


• Familiarity with Java, Javascript, and Python


• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. An Interim Secret clearance is acceptable to start.

We are seeking a Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) Engineer to join our team based at White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, NM. This position is focused on software testing that will be utilized on a new ground system in support of NASA’s return to the moon. You will be joining a team that is dedicated to system analysis, software and hardware testing, collaboration with multiple departments, and the sustainment of software or hardware into existing systems that support Space Communications for NASA’s Near Space Network (NSN).

As prime contractor on the Peraton Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA’s worldwide satellite communication networks.In this position, you will become part of NASA’s return to the moon, support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. This position will be responsible for:

• Development, execution, and tracking of software test procedures and plans in support of requirement verification for systems under development.


• Interface with personnel from a variety of disciplines to ensure successful integration of software fixes and updates.


• Independently organize working groups to develop scenario testing, procedures, documentation, and operator training.


• Implementation of NASA System Engineering Management Policy processes, procedures, documentation, and contributions to major project milestone reviews with the NASA customer.


• Complete miscellaneous tasks and projects as requested by management leadership.
