Job Description:
- This is an Information Technology Operations role supporting the Buffalo Stamping Plant, which supplies components to two of our company's assembly plants: Oakville Assembly in Ontario (Edge and Lincoln Nautilus) and Kentucky Truck Plant (Expedition, Lincoln Navigator, Super Duty trucks).
- This role offers an excellent opportunity to join the Site IT team and contribute to redefining how IT supports manufacturing.
- As a member of the Plant IT team, you will assist in producing stamped and sub-assembly parts.
- You will interface with and support IT across various Infrastructure & Applications used in the plant to produce high-quality vehicles.
- You will also contribute to process improvement efforts for flexible and lean manufacturing, supporting initiatives like IIOT, Software-defined networks, digital solutions, and legacy systems.
Skills Required:
- Support a multi-shift manufacturing operation.
- Work on-site with flexible hours, including support for weekend production if needed.
- Provide technical support for applications, infrastructure, OS, and end-user tools.
- Coordinate with corporate IT and business owners on improvement projects.
- Support plant floor systems and resolve incidents, including business continuity planning and escalations.
- Focus on long-term maintenance of applications and hardware.
- Assist with workload management and develop support documentation.
- Support Cisco-based network equipment and Windows/Linux servers.
- Assist with Factory of Tomorrow initiatives using IIOT, mobile, and network technologies.
Skills Preferred:
- Strong desire to learn manufacturing operations from an IT perspective.
- Broad understanding of business and manufacturing processes and IT tools.
- Willingness to work in a high-pressure environment and support flexible shifts.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies.
Experience Required:
- Experience with Windows and Linux server administration.
- Knowledge of Cisco routers and switches, troubleshooting, and basic setup.
- Willingness to learn Cisco SDA architecture.
- Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and VM servers (vSphere).
- Experience with Android and iOS devices.
- Familiarity with Office365, SharePoint, and office automation tools.
- Experience with handheld scanners and plant automation systems is a plus.
Experience Preferred:
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage projects efficiently.
- Effective collaboration with diverse teams and management levels.
- Self-motivated, problem-solving skills, reliability, and punctuality.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and walk 1-2 miles per shift.
- Manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
