We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer to join a team of highly motivated software, systems, and security engineers working on infrastructure at scale in support of US National Security customers. Be part of the team that solves infrastructure deployment issues with software, delivers high-velocity and high-quality infrastructure in specialized public cloud environments, and provides innovative database services.

PLEASE NOTE: Qualification for this job is contingent upon acceptable results from a background investigation as well as your having and maintaining the specific level of U.S. government background investigation and clearance required for this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate a sense of autonomy and ownership of your areas, proactively taking accountability for progress.
  • Design practical guardrails based on environmental constraints to enable service owners to receive rapid, self-service feedback about the efficacy and security of their services.
  • Solve infrastructure-related problems with code and build compute capacity in a fast-paced environment. Lead key projects in design, development, and post-release support of the Salesforce platform and internal tools supporting our government customers.
  • Understand how large-scale production infrastructure works with third-party cloud service providers.
  • Transform human-heavy processes into automated governance solutions.
  • Improve CI/CD pipeline governance through collaboration with partner teams, iterating for efficiency while maintaining service velocity.
  • Enhance influence and collaboration skills by working with various infrastructure teams across Salesforce.
  • Interact with a highly innovative team of developers, open-source contributors, and architects.
  • Contribute to long-term projects that deliver lasting value.
  • Evaluate new technologies to solve problems and play a forward-thinking role in service design, testing, and deployment.
Requirements:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Related technical degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years development experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform)
  • 6+ years Linux system engineering experience
  • 3+ years developing or managing infrastructure and application security for highly sensitive data & environments (IAM, etc.)
  • 3+ years deploying with CI orchestration services (Jenkins, Spinnaker)
  • 3+ years scripting/programming experience (Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Go)
  • 6+ years working within and building on AWS
  • 3+ years deploying distributed applications with containers (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, EKS, GKS)
Desirable:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience integrating security & compliance into pipelines (OPA, Twistlock, Prisma, Casbin)
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Graphite, Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Zabbix
  • Experience with LSM-Tree/Ledger databases like AWS QLDB, LevelDB, or LSM storage systems like Apache Bookkeeper
