Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to support Navy Nuclear Weapons Security with acquisition and operations tasks from our Alexandria, VA, HQ.

The role offers part-time telework options and ties to mission-driven, high-reliability programs. Ideal candidates are pursuing an Engineering, Data Science, or Operations Research degree and possess strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required with ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
• Must be able to work at SPA HQ in Alexandria, up to 5 days a week, as needed.
• Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research or other technical field.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to synthesize data.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support acquisition and sustainment efforts for Navy Nuclear Weapons Security Program.
• Apply broad systems engineering skills to problems; may include PM, schedule, MILCON integration, requirements development.
• Coordinate with government mentor and other SPA teams (Policy, Modeling & Simulation, Safety).
• Prepare customer products for leadership reviews and coordinate with customers via phone/email.
• Travel occasionally to customer locations and participate in SPA events and round-tables.
