Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks a Systems Engineering Intern to assist the Navy Nuclear Weapons Security Program from its Alexandria, VA HQ. The role involves acquisition support, security system development, and cross-team collaboration with policy, modeling, and safety groups.

Candidates must be US citizens pursuing engineering/Data Science/OR degrees, with strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Telework part-time may be available.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• On-site at SPA HQ in Alexandria, up to 5 days a week.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Operations Research or similar.

Responsibilities

• Assist government mentor with acquisition and operations support for Navy Nuclear Weapons Security Program.
• Support shore-based and waterfront security systems and counter-unmanned platforms.
• Apply systems engineering methods including requirements development, risk analysis, and program life-cycle planning.
