Job summary

MITRE seeks motivated engineering students to join the Systems Integration Department as interns. You will model architectures for complex systems using MBSE frameworks and develop prototypes or dashboards with Java and Python while exploring architecture evaluation methods.

The role requires full-time student status in relevant fields, familiarity with Python or MATLAB, and U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a government security clearance. On-site work four days per week is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be a student enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program relevant to Systems Engineering, Electrical, Aerospace, Physics or Computer Engineering.
• Familiarity with Python or MATLAB is expected.
• Familiarity with MBSE, systems integration or related modeling concepts is required.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
• Position requires a minimum of four days per week on-site.

The Systems Integration Department is charged with identifying, developing, and applying new technologies that can address the Government's most challenging Systems Engineering problems. This is an opportunity for experienced engineers who are highly motivated, innovative, and proactive. This position provides challenging opportunities to apply and expand one’s architecture modeling and system integration skillsets. Areas of interest include Model Based Engineering (MBSE, MDA, MDD, MDE), Systems of Systems, architecture modeling, analysis of complex systems, and decision support.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating architectures using qualitative and quantitative techniques.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
• Familiarity with a programming or technical computing language such as Python or MATLAB.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Systems Integration, or related systems modeling and architecture concepts.
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain the required U.S. government security clearance
• This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic, project, or internship experience with systems engineering, analysis, modeling and simulation, software development, or a related technical area.
