Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) Capability Leader
Position Summary
KrateoSky is hiring a Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) Capability Leader to build and scale a core engineering capability that supports every product line in our portfolio. This leader will define common systems engineering standards, strengthen integration and verification practices, and help teams build safer, more reusable, and more certifiable products. The role combines hands‑on technical leadership with functional ownership for the people, processes, tools, and operating discipline required to scale.
This is a hands‑on player‑coach role for a leader who can solve technical problems directly while also building the people, processes, and operating discipline required to scale across a growing organization.
As an AI‑native and automation‑first leader, the default instinct is to eliminate manual tasks. This leader will use AI and automation as productivity multipliers to reduce manual work, improve engineering throughput, and help teams focus on the highest‑value technical problems. The leader embodies our values: deliver precision, challenge assumptions, break problems into fundamentals, and execute hands‑on without ego to ensure product lines seamlessly pull from—and contribute to—shared, robust capability assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Capability Governance: Establish and maintain shared engineering methods, standards, toolchains, technical metrics, and review practices that strengthen functional excellence across the portfolio.
- Technical Authority: Serve as the functional authority for the capability, setting standards, governing technical quality, and ensuring product teams have access to scalable, reusable technical depth.
- Reference Architectures & Reuse: Define and mature common frameworks, reference architectures, and reusable assets that can be adopted and improved across multiple product lines.
- Design & Technical Reviews: Chair capability‑specific design reviews, independent technical reviews, and technical roadmap discussions to improve rigor, reuse, and execution quality.
- Functional Leadership: Build and develop the capability organization through hiring, coaching, training, competency development, and career pathways. Manage capability hiring and resource allocation across the Enterprise.
- Cross‑Portfolio Enablement: Partner with product line leaders to ensure teams can effectively pull from—and contribute back to—shared capability assets, methods, and standards.
- Maturity & Risk Management: Implement iterative development practices, technical risk reduction, and maturity‑burndown mechanisms to improve readiness, transparency, and decision‑making.
- External Evaluation: Lead or support technical assessments of acquisition targets, inherited baselines, suppliers, partners, and external technologies relevant to the capability.
- System Architecture & Requirements: Own top‑level system architecture, system decomposition, stakeholder requirements architecture, and system‑level requirements traceability across hardware, software, autonomy, payload, ground, manufacturing, and field operations.
- MBSE & Digital Engineering: Champion AI‑enabled model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering methods, including migration of systems engineering artifacts into common frameworks and improved traceability from requirements through verification.
- Interface Management: Govern system interfaces and interface control documentation across hardware, software, payload, autonomy, ground segment, manufacturing, and operational environments.
- Integration, Verification & Validation: Define and lead the enterprise approach to system integration, verification, validation, and independent verification evidence across subsystem, system, and operational levels.
- Integration Lab Development: Stand up and mature system integration environments, including simulation, digital twin, software‑in‑the‑loop, hardware‑in‑the‑loop, and mission‑rehearsal validation frameworks.
- Configuration & Baseline Governance: Establish configuration management governance, baseline integrity, change‑control processes, and change control board coordination across development phases.
- Technical Performance Management: Define and track technical performance measures such as mass, power, thermal margin, endurance, payload capacity, latency, reliability, autonomy interface performance, and mission effectiveness.
- Safety & Reliability Integration: Integrate system safety, reliability, FRACAS, reliability growth, and safety‑case traceability into system engineering and verification activities in coordination with Safety and Airworthiness.
- Operational Transition & Mission Validation: Support CONOPS/OPSCON development, operational transition planning, and system‑level mission‑thread validation to ensure readiness for field deployment.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
- Experience leading cross‑functional system development through requirements, integration, verification, and validation
- Experience building or scaling engineering processes, standards, and teams
- Experience with MBSE and digital engineering practices
- Experience in regulated, safety‑critical, or mission‑critical environments
- AI‑native proficiency: ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar tools are part of your default workflow, and you can point to measurable productivity gains from AI‑augmented work in engineering contexts.
- Security Clearance: Eligible to obtain US DoD Secret security clearance.
Desired Qualifications
- Digital twin development and operation; INCOSE CSEP certification
- Product line engineering configuration environment implementation
