Job summary

RTX’s Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL is seeking students for an Avionics CNS internship/co-op. You will participate in designing, verifying, and qualifying next-generation avionics systems, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge CNS products and working within an integrated product team.

You will learn systems engineering, requirements management, and participate in documentation while collaborating with global teams in a challenging aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Minimum of 60 hours of credit by start of internship/co-op.
• Experience can be through on-the-job, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in an integrated product team to support design, integration, verification and validation of avionics CNS products.
• Engage in full product development life-cycle activities including requirements management, systems architecture, and data analysis.
• Document engineering work in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

What You Will Do

Collins Aerospace in Melbourne, FL is actively looking for students to join our Avionics Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) directorate. As part of our team, you will be involved in designing, verifying, and qualifying next generation avionics systems. Gain hands-on experience with our cutting-edge next generation avionics products. • You will participate in a collaborative integrated product team and support the design, integration, verification and validation of avionics CNS products.
• You will actively work in the full product development life-cycle activities and gain hands-on experience in requirements management, systems architecture, test planning and data analysis.
• You will assist in documentation of engineering work in compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Understanding of systems engineering principles and requirements management.
• Displays experience in any of the scripting languages, like Python, Perl.
• Strong interest in the aerospace industry and related fields
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
