Job summary

MIKEL Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer V to lead design, integration, and optimization of complex systems supporting DoD missions.

You will oversee hardware/software integration, ensure reliability across platforms, and drive architectural decisions with software, network, and project teams. The role requires strong experience in system architecture, performance tuning, and security, with frontline responsibility for compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or closely related discipline.
  • Proven expertise in system design, integration, and troubleshooting within complex IT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, or UNIX.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and/or relevant computer programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

About the Role:

As a Systems Engineer V, you will play a critical leadership role in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex systems that support the organization's strategic objectives. You will be responsible for overseeing the integration of hardware and software components to ensure seamless operation and high reliability across multiple platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of system architecture, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to deliver scalable and secure solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, network engineers, and project managers to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Ultimately, your expertise will ensure that the systems infrastructure meets current and future business needs while maintaining compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in systems engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Proven expertise in system design, integration, and troubleshooting within complex IT environments.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, or UNIX.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and/or necessary computer programs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 12+ years experiences or Master's in a relevant technical field.
  • Background in network engineering or cybersecurity.
