Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Colorado is seeking a Staff System Engineer to join the SEIT team supporting design, development, integration, test and delivery of critical capabilities focused on requirements development and verification.

You will lead system-level analyses, architecture definitization, interfaces, and mission requirement conversions, with 5+ years in systems engineering and active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Experience across the full lifecycle of systems engineering.
  • Experience supporting trade studies and requirements development/management.
  • Active Top Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.

Responsibilities

  • Support IRAD and proposal efforts for the SEIT team, including system design, analysis, test, and integration activities.
  • Organize and support major program reviews for subsystems, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TIM.
  • Ensure completeness of converting mission requirements into system solution.

This position will be a key member of the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team in support of the final design, development, production, integration, test, and delivery of this critical capability focused on the requirements development, decomposition, and verification.

As a Staff System Engineer, you will be responsible to execute and manage Systems Engineering projects, IRADs, or Proposals.

Some of the roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support IRAD and proposal efforts for the SEIT team, including system design, analysis, test, and integration activities
  • Organize and support major program reviews for subsystems, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TIM
  • Ensure completeness of converting mission requirements into system solution
  • Definitize the system architecture and subsequent design
  • Develop/define interfaces between critical elements
  • Perform the necessary analysis to accomplish mission requirement conversion, architecture definitization
  • 5+ years professional experience.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in systems engineering across the entire lifecycle
  • Experience supporting trade studies (definition and execution) and requirements development/management
  • Working knowledge or experience with systems integration, design, and test activities
  • Experience working either Satellite or Ground Segment programs
  • Experience owning or supporting Technical Performance Management (TPMs) for a development program
  • Active or current Top Secret clearance, thus US citizenship is required
Desired Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or a closely related technical discipline
  • Aptitude to perform functional and performance-based thread engineering/CONOPs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering and/or Architect experience
  • Background in architecting and/or designing communication subsystems (e.g., RF, optical, digital), for space missions
  • Experience defining, developing, or tailoring Digital Models of complex system
  • MBSE knowledge or experience
  • Knowledge or experience with missiles, defense, aerospace, or related systems
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00
