Job summary

Lockheed Martin's RMS unit in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the IDT product team on the GMD Weapon System. You will decompose requirements, analyze hardware faults, and define hardware-software interfaces within an Agile environment using Jira and Confluence.

You will work with experienced engineers to ensure system integrity and timely delivery, contributing to missile defense capabilities for national security.

Qualifications

• General understanding of the Systems Engineering 'V' life cycle and ability to perform analyses with supervision.
• Background in hardware including hardware-to-software interfaces and diagnosing hardware faults.
• Active U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level; US Citizen.
• GWS IDT systems engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform systems engineering functions such as requirements decomposition and hardware fault analysis.
• Define hardware to software interfaces and interface definitions for the IDT product team.
• Contribute to agile backlog management using Jira and Confluence.
• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and risk analyses.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.

The Work

This role is for a Systems Engineer to support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. In this role the candidate will perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, hardware fault analysis, and hardware to software interface definition as part of the IDT product team.

The GWS system provides missile defense capabilities that protect and defends the United States of America.

This team follows an Agile framework using Jira and Confluence to manage their backlog and document progress. This is not a telework/remote position.

Additional Work The Role May Perform Includes:

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Standard Job Description

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. For positions that perform IT responsibilities, use E646, Systems Engr-IT.

Basic Qualifications

• General understanding of the Systems Engineering 'V' and be capable of performing engineering analysis, requirements allocation, and requirements decomposition with supervision from a senior engineer. Must also have a background in hardware to include experience with hardware to software interfaces, as well as, experience diagnosing hardware faults (fault detection and fault isolation).
• An active U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level is required to start. Must be a US Citizen.
• Applicant must have current GWS IDT systems engineering experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
