Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Systems Administrator/Engineer to support the POS Infrastructure team in Austin, TX. You will manage deployments, build automation, and monitoring across thousands of devices during a major Windows-to-Linux migration.

The role requires 4+ years in Linux and systems/SRE, plus scripting in Python/Java/Bash. You will collaborate with software teams on operational readiness and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience.
• 4+ years of Linux experience.
• 4+ years of systems engineering experience.
• 4+ years of site reliability engineering (SRE), systems engineering, systems administration, DevOps, security administration, or network administration experience.
• Experience in Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute production software deployments for store devices (POS, SCO, servers, peripherals).
• Perform root cause analysis on production incidents and device failures.
• Develop infrastructure automation using Python, Ansible, and shell scripting.
• Build observability solutions: dashboards, alerting, and health monitoring.
