Job summary

Apple’s Platform Architecture group in Austin seeks a systems engineer to join world-leading silicon teams. You will help interface software to hardware, contribute to next-generation chips, and support verification and validation across multiple disciplines.

The role requires a BS in CS or related field, strong C/C++ programming, threading, scripting (Python, Lua), and hands-on debugging. Travel may be occasional as projects span the US and overseas.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related engineering field.
• Experience programming in C/C++.
• Threading/concurrency experience.
• Experience with scripting such as Python, Lua.
• Experience with debugging skills in software.
• 3+ years relevant industry experience.
• Background in both software and hardware engineering.
• Excellent skills in SystemVerilog / VHDL, and associated tools.
• Knowledge of industry standard protocols (PCI, AXI, etc.).
• Experience with internal customer support.
• Excellent communication, analytical and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new technologies for interfacing software to hardware prototypes.
• Work with software, design verification and silicon validation teams to deploy and transfer this technology.
• Support various groups (software, architecture, verification, validation) in the use of existing and the development of new technology.
• Work independently and lead deliverables to different teams.
• Occasional travel to development groups in the US and overseas.
