Job summary

Applied Intuition Inc. is seeking a Perception Systems Engineer with automotive ADAS/autonomy background to define and manage perception subsystem requirements and assess safety and performance at scale.

In this in-office role in Sunnyvale, you will collaborate with perception SW and HW teams, design sensor sets, and drive verification and validation pipelines to support releases. You should have 3+ years in automotive system engineering, experience with perception systems and sensor modalities,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a system engineering role owning system requirements, testing systems for verification, and designing system requirements in the automotive industry.
• Experience in working on perception systems.
• Expertise in different sensor modalities used for autonomous driving.
• Coding expertise developing scripts for overall perception requirements framework and evaluation (Python preferred, C++ nice to have).
• MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with ADAS, autonomous systems, and robotics (L2++ systems).
• Nice to have project management and leadership experience in the AV industry.
• Nice to have research experience in the AV and robotics fields.

About the role

We are looking for a Perception Systems Engineer with an automotive background in ADAS and/or autonomous driving. This engineer will define and manage the perception subsystem requirements as well as evaluate its safety and performance for autonomous driving at scale. This engineer will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of this project in the automotive industry space.

We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.

At Applied Intuition, you will:

• 3+ years of experience in a system engineering role responsible for owning system requirements, testing systems for verification, and designing system requirements in the automotive industry.
• Experience in working on perception systems.

• Coding expertise developing scripts for overall perception requirements framework and evaluation (Python preferred, C++ nice to have).
• MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or equivalent.

• Experience with ADAS, autonomous systems, and robotics (L2++ systems).

Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Applied Intuition pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum intended target base salary for new hire salaries for the position. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, interview performance, and the level and scope of the position.
