Job summary

Sunayu, LLC is hiring a Systems Engineer to design, implement, manage, and monitor NMCC IT systems. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams, document progress in Remedy, and present status updates to government stakeholders.

Candidates must be US citizens with DoD-level certifications and strong VMware/Windows/Linux experience, including STIG hardening and Veeam. A BS in IT or equivalent experience is required. On-site Arlington, VA role with TS/SCI clearance preferred.

Qualifications

• US Citizen required.
• DoD 8750.01 IAT Level II Certifications: Security+ CE (Preferred), CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP.
• BS Degree in Information Technology, or 8 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience with STIG hardening practices.
• Experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat and CentOS).
• Extensive VMware experience including migrations and advanced features.
• Experience managing Windows Server 2022/2019 and Active Directory.
• Experience with VMWare and Veeam tools.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside system administrators responsible for the Information Systems within NMCC.
• Provide solutions based on system requirements and cross-team collaboration.
• Draft/review Engineering Installation Plans for IT requirements supporting NMCC; coordinate with vendors.
• Establish baseline hardware/software configuration for IT networks within NMCC.
• Assist with System Administrators implementation, security, privileges, and maintenance tasks; develop documentation and SOPs.

Sunayu LLC is hiring a Systems Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing and monitoring of existing and new systems within the National Military Command Center. You will be working with a team of other systems engineers and systems administrators to resolve issues, implement patches, updates, and report progress to supervisor and stakeholders. You will be required to make entries within the Remedy ticketing system to document the work that is being accomplished on a regular basis. Candidates must be comfortable with developing schedules/timelines for the work that is required to be reviewed by leadership.

You will be working with other teams to include system administration, multimedia engineers, telecommunications engineers, etc. in a collaborative effort in designing and troubleshooting systems.You will be called up to brief status updates or present problems and solutions to government and DOD personnel.

Candidate must be able to explain technical issues to non-technical personnel and in a professional manner.

Daily Responsibilities

• Work alongside system administrators responsible for the Information Systems (IS) within the National Military Command Center (NMCC).
• Provide solutions based on system requirements and work with multiple teams to develop solutions to technical issues that arise.
• Draft/reviewEngineering Installation Plans for IT requirements supporting the NMCC.Workdirectly with third party vendors to discuss IT solutions/integration with mission critical systems within the NMCC.
• Establish baseline hardware/software configuration for IT networks within the NMCC.
• Assist with System Administrators implementation, security, privileges, and regular maintenance tasks.Develop and produce documentations, SOPs, reports, and presentation slide decks.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen
• DoD 8750.01 IAT Level II Certifications: at a minimum, one of the following: Security+ CE (Preferred), CCNA-Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP.
• BS Degree in Information Technology and 8 years work experience can be in lieu of degree.
• Experience with Secure Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) hardening practices.
• Experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat and CentOS).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with other highly skilled and diverse individuals.
• Extensive experience with VMware deployments, to include migration of VMs from Hyper-V to VMware, and building out a comprehensive VMware solution from start to finish (utilizing advanced features such as High Availability, FaultTolerance, etc.).
• Extensive experience with managing Windows Server 2022 and 2019 domain environments, to include Active Directory, Group Policy.
• Extensive experience with the following tools is a must: VMware, Veeam Backup & Replication.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with building out and managing VMware environments.
• Experience with building/testing Group Policy.
• Experience working with Cybersecurity teams to harden systems in accordance with DISA guidelines and best practices.
• Demonstrated Cybersecurity and Risk Management Framework experience
• Demontrated experience working with the project management and other systems engineering teams.
• Experience tracking large scale and requirements
• Ability to adapt quickly and priorities work.
• Ability to manage multiple systems, each at different stages of their life cycle.
• Experience with server/data migrations and integrations
• Experience with develop, execute, and document test plans, test schedules, scripted tasks.

Pay Rate
