Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support GEOINT systems for NSG, ASG, NRO and Federal Agencies. You will apply requirements engineering, systems integration, reliability, and performance analysis to deliver GEOINT capabilities.

Onsite in Chantilly or Springfield, VA, you will collaborate with government customers and cross-functional teams to design and evaluate solutions across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field.
• Equivalency options: 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, or 2 additional years with a non-STEM degree.

Responsibilities

• Conduct systems and requirements engineering.
• Perform systems integration across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agency environments.
• Evaluate cloud service capabilities and scheduling limitations.
• Develop solution designs based on requirements analysis and mission needs.
• Assist with translating mission and customer needs into system requirements.
• Support AoAs, CoAs, trade studies, and engineering assessments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or another related STEM discipline.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted: 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, or 2 additional years of relevant experience with a non-STEM degree.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in government or industry, including experience with DoD/IC acquisition processes, requirements processes, PPBES processes, or systems engineering within large, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture environments across cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.
• 6+ years of systems engineering experience in government or industry.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, SCI eligibility, or the ability to obtain SCI and successfully complete a polygraph.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.
• Previous NGA and/or NSG/ASG program or project experience.
• Previous IC or DoD program/project experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance, SCI eligibility, or the ability to obtain SCI and successfully complete a polygraph.

Desired Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and languages.
• Working knowledge of software development frameworks.
• INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification.
• Experience supporting geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) programs or missions.
• Membership or active participation in professional organizations such as:

  • ASCE
  • ASPRS
  • OGC
  • SAREM
  • USGIF
• Working knowledge of photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, or related disciplines.

We are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support complex GEOINT systems and capabilities across the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG), NRO, and Federal Agencies.

The Systems Engineer will apply a multidisciplinary approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, systems integration, reliability, resiliency, services development, testing and evaluation, maintainability, scheduling, and technical analysis to support the delivery of timely and accurate GEOINT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct systems and requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and technical analysis across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agency environments.
• Analyze and trace user requirements, architectures, procedures, and technical problems to identify opportunities to automate or improve existing systems and capabilities.
• Evaluate cloud service capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations to support effective systems and mission solutions.
• Develop solution designs based on requirements analysis, emerging technologies, and mission needs.
• Assist the Government in capturing and translating mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and technical solutions.
• Support the analysis and allocation of requirements to system architecture components and executing programs.
• Perform systems integration activities across complex technical environments.
• Support Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments.
• Assist with strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.

Location: This position is fully onsite in either Chantilly or Springfield, VA
