Position Overview

The selected Systems Engineer will support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Systems Engineering Team for the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product.

Essential Functions

The Systems Engineer will develop and assist in the requirements process that directly supports the design and development of GWS capabilities on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The role requires working in a fast‑paced environment with diverse assignments and collaborating across all experience levels.

Basic Qualifications

• Systems Engineer – Level 2:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline + 2 years related work experience, or Master’s Degree + 0–2 years related experience.
• Principal Systems Engineer – Level 3:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline + 5 years related experience, or Master’s Degree + 3 years, or 1 year with a PhD.
  • Must have a solid understanding of systems engineering processes and principles.
  • Proficient with DOORS, Cameo, and MBSE.
  • Experience with software development and verification of requirements.
  • Experience on a large‑scale missile defense system such as GMD.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to think critically, capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Can support an in‑person or closed‑area work environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Current active DoD‑issued Secret clearance at the time of application.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the MDA GMD program.
• Battle Management or Fire Control experience.
• MBSE or INCOSE certifications.
• Experience developing SE artifacts such as specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, and similar documents.

Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 – $131,400.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 – $163,200.00
