The Opportunity:
Lead systems engineering efforts supporting intelligence, electronic warfare, and cyber systems for Department of Defense customers. As a Systems Engineer Lead, you will:
- Lead technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, and cost/risk analyses for complex intelligence, EW, and cyber systems
- Perform requirements analysis, architecture trade studies, and capability mapping across tactical and enterprise C5ISR systems
- Develop technical baselines and system architecture documentation for defense intelligence programs
- Lead functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies to translate customer requirements into technical specifications
- Coordinate with government program offices to ensure system interoperability and integration
- Support systems engineering activities across the full system lifecycle from concept through disposal
Responsibilities:
- Lead interdisciplinary engineering teams in the development and integration of non-IT engineering systems including hardware, communications, cyber, electrical, and mechanical solutions
- Conduct system-level verification and validation activities including test planning, test execution, and analysis
- Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts including requirements specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), system architecture documents, and technical performance measures
- Support Engineering Review Boards (ERBs), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), and program milestone reviews
- Perform supportability and effectiveness analyses to optimize total system performance
- Apply systems engineering standards and processes per IEEE 15288, EIA 632, or DoD systems engineering guidelines
- Ensure logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives, DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) product development, and Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) compliance activities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior systems engineers
- Interface with Government customers, program managers, and cross-functional technical teams
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (required)
- Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related Engineering discipline
- 10+ years of professional experience in systems engineering
- Demonstrated experience with systems integration, verification and validation, and technical planning for complex DoD systems
- Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and methodologies
- Experience with requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and interface management
- Knowledge of C5ISR, SIGINT, EW, or intelligence systems architecture
- Experience with systems engineering tools for requirements management, modeling, or architecture development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to perform trade studies and technical assessments
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills with ability to develop technical documentation
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Government customers and cross-functional teams
Desired:
- International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) CSEP or ESEP certification
- Experience with Army intelligence and electronic warfare programs
- Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML and tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw
- Familiarity with DoDAF architecture products and development
- Understanding of MOSA, SOSA, and CMOSS open architecture standards
- Experience with CMOSS/MORA interface standards and VPX architectures
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, Agile systems engineering, and iterative development approaches
- Experience with AI/ML integration into intelligence systems
- Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and cybersecurity authorization processes
- Familiarity with Multi-INT integration concepts
- Knowledge of cloud architectures and hybrid system designs
- Previous experience supporting government program offices
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Cameo Requirements
- Understanding of digital engineering and digital thread concepts
