Job description

KAIROS, Inc is searching for an energetic, experienced, and highly motivated Systems Engineer, Journeyman to join our team. This position will be onsite at NAWCAD WOLF St. Inigoes, MD.

This position will have demonstrated knowledge in the area of engineering expertise and will apply and integrate engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems. This position predominantly performs tasks under the guidance and supervision of senior engineers and managers.


Primary Duties:
  • Applies and integrates engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military C5ISR systems.
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Applies engineering experience to perform functions such as systems engineering, system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Analyzes designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military C5ISR systems and associated support systems or management information systems.
  • Leads the execution of complex tasks.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform all functional duties independently.
  • Ability to lead the execution of complex tasks.
  • Ability to apply and integrate engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military C5ISR systems.
  • Ability to use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., No Magic Cameo Systems Modeler, GENESYS, etc.).
  • Ability to review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Strong technical writing skills across a variety of technical documents.
  • Ability to apply engineering experience to perform functions such as systems engineering, system integration, configuration management, quality assurance, testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Ability to analyze designs, develop, implement, test, or evaluate hardware/firmware/software components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military C5ISR systems and associated support systems or management information systems.
  • Strong customer relations, analytics, and documentation skills.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, strong work ethic with a commitment to quality.
  • Microsoft office suite proficiency, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work within a challenging, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet competing, deliverable deadlines.
