Job summary

KBR is seeking a Systems Engineer IV to support planning, integration, test, and validation of Autonomous Collaborative Platform (ACP) systems in KBRs GAME environment. The selected candidate will work with government, industry, and partners to assess technology maturity, develop integration strategies, and support acquisition planning for the Air Force ACP program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years in autonomy development, autonomous systems integration, AI/ML, robotics, or advanced mission systems.
  • Familiarity with Modeling & Simulation concepts & standards (e.g., JSE, AFSIM, MACE).
  • Experience with DoD acquisition or military aviation programs.
  • Active Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Support simulation-related analysis, requirements development, and systems engineering activities.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional AF/LCMC engineering, user communities, and external autonomy experts.
  • Support integration plans, interface definition, verification strategies, and test approaches for autonomous systems.

Position Title: Systems Engineer IV / Simulation Integration and Test Expert

KBR is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support planning, integration, test, and validation of Autonomous Collaborative Platform (ACP) systems in KBRs Government Autonomy Modeling and Simulation Environment (GAME). The selected candidate will work closely with government, industry, and partners to assess technology maturity, develop integration strategies, and support acquisition planning for the future of the Air Force ACP program. This is a senior position in which the candidate will apply in-depth operational expertise, leadership, and technical knowledge to support the Warfighter in ACP test and validation.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support simulation-related analysis, requirements development, and systems engineering activities.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams within AF/LCMC engineering, user communities, and external autonomy experts.

  • Support integration plans, interface definition, verification strategies, and test approaches for autonomous systems.

  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including operators, engineers, and acquisition professionals.

  • Execute simulations to evaluate system effectiveness or suitability under relevant operational conditions and scenarios.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for leadership.

  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Maintain a willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers’ requirements and needs.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in autonomy development, autonomous systems integration, AI/ML systems, robotics, or advanced mission systems.

  • Exposure to Modeling & Simulation concepts & Standards (e.g., JSE, AFSIM, MACE).

  • Familiarity in systems engineering processes (requirements, integration, verification, validation).

  • Familiarity with software development, requirements management software (GitLab, Artifactory, Nexus), Test Management, and Defect Tracking (JIRA).

  • Hands-on experience with container technologies, including Docker and Podman, for building, running, and troubleshooting containerized applications.

  • Experience with DoD acquisition or military aviation programs.

  • An active Secret clearance is required.


Desired Experience


  • Master’s degree desired. STEM degree desired.

  • 5+ years of experience in flight test as a discipline engineer or test conductor

  • Experience using Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) or Digital Integrated Air Defense System (DIADS) simulator software.

  • Prior experience supporting Air Force programs, particularly in Fighter, unmanned systems, or advanced mission systems.

  • Knowledge of digital engineering tools, modeling & simulation, and architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, UAF, MBSE).


Work Environment


  • Location: On-site – Beavercreek Ohio; Hybrid (3 days minimum in office)

  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20% or as directed by mission requirements

  • Working Hours: Standard 40 hours
