DESCRIPTION: Patricio Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer at Ft Belvoir, VA.

Primary duties include:

  1. Serving as Systems Engineer on assigned PEO Soldier programs.
  2. Managing systems engineering activities such as requirements analysis, functional analysis, design solutions, systems analysis and control, and maintaining systems architecture products.
  3. Applying system engineering principles to translate needs into system performance parameters and configurations.
  4. Creating and issuing systems engineering documents, processes, procedures, and milestones.
  5. Providing expert advice on critical programs and technologies.
  6. Serving as subject matter expert for all technical aspects of the assigned program.
  7. Performing top-level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
  8. Translating military operational and mission requirements into system concepts and specifications.
  9. Developing and maintaining technical documentation such as specifications, drawings, interface requirements, and engineering changes.
  10. Participating in post-award reviews, program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as project engineer or technical expert.
  11. Evaluating design efforts for integration and analysis adequacy, bringing in additional expertise as needed.
  12. Reviewing test plans, procedures, reports, and failure reports for technical adequacy.
  13. Assessing system performance, field performance, and risks related to meeting requirements.
  14. Initiating engineering change proposals, waivers, and conducting configuration audits.
  15. Reviewing program management documents for technical accuracy and adequacy.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  1. Thorough knowledge of the Systems Engineering Management Process and Department of Army/DOD Acquisition processes.
  2. Knowledge of DOD policies on Systems Engineering, IPPD, and IPT Management.
  3. Ability to coordinate and negotiate with related programs and organizations.
  4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Master of Arts or Science degree with 15 years of relevant experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is sedentary work requiring activities such as reaching, sifting, lifting up to 20 lbs, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. Employees must be able to see, hear, read, and write effectively in English. The role requires adaptability, analytical skills, decision-making, dependability, good judgment, and stress management. Routine forms and oral communications are part of the job. Decisions can have significant impact on the immediate work unit.
