Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Missile Defense Integration seeks a Systems Engineer - Integration (26-363) at Schriever Space Force Base, CO. This role focuses on integrating C2BMC hardware/software, conducting system testouts, and collaborating with stakeholders to resolve complex issues.

The candidate should have a STEM degree with 2+ years of related experience (or higher degrees) and DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification, plus a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 2+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 0 years, or PhD with relevant experience.
  • Must have current DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher at start.
  • Must have DoD Secret security clearance at time of application.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Ability to analyze logs, network configs, and interface documentation to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills in fast-paced government environment.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) hardware and software into testbeds and operational systems.
  • Conduct full system checkouts of virtual machines, networks, and message flows.
  • Collaborate with internal and external entities across the Missile Defense System to test, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues.
  • Author test plans and procedures.
  • Write Problem Reports to document issues.
  • Provide feedback to Developers.
  • Create and modify scripts to extract specific information from log files.
  • Perform data analysis of input/output and internal message traffic.
  • Operate and troubleshoot C2BMC systems during test events and integration activities.
  • Support meetings with National Team groups, other MDS elements, and Government customers.
  • Non-standard work hours may be required on occasion.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems- Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer - Integration (26-363) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based at Schriever Space Force Base, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Position Overview

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively observe the battle as it develops, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats across all ranges and phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks, integrates, and synchronizes autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is an integral part of all system ground and flight tests that verify and exercise current and future missile defense system capabilities.

Essential Functions

Basic Qualifications

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. A Bachelor’s Degree in STEM Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a STEM-related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related discipline with relevant work experience Applicants must have a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CISSP, SecurityX, CCNA Security, CySA+ **, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CASP+ CE, etc.) at the time of application, which is required to start. The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start Willingness to 10% travel for business needs 0-2 years of experience as a system integrator or administrator Must have domain expertise in one or more of these areas: Networking, Linux, and/or Windows Self-starter with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment with the Government customer and with internal and external personnel to the program Basic troubleshooting skills and an ability to understand the hardware and software components operating in a widely distributed virtual environment Ability to conduct complex troubleshooting by analyzing application and system logs, network configurations, and interface documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Technical knowledge of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Missile Defense System (MDS), including sensors, shooters, command and control systems, and networks Prior integration and testing experience within the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program Experience with Agile Methodologies Creation and management of capabilities, features, and PRs.

Primary Level Salary Range

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
