ROLE SNAPSHOT
  • Pay: $110,000 to $140,000 annually
  • Location/Schedule: Hybrid, Cape Coral, Florida, United States. Must be within reach of the office for hands-on and datacenter work. Full-time, US Eastern business hours, with a few hours of daily overlap with the India-based engineering team.
  • Department: IT Infrastructure & Security
  • Reports to: Manager, IT Infrastructure & Business Continuity
  • Purpose: Own core infrastructure delivery, automate repeatable work, verify actual system behavior, and make every system you touch operable by someone else.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own backup health, coverage, retention, offsite and immutable copies; prove recovery through restore tests and exercises, and maintain usable recovery runbooks.
  • Administer Active Directory and Entra ID, including groups, service accounts, SSO, MFA, conditional access and access reviews; improve credential ownership, vaulting and employee access processes.
  • Build, patch and maintain Windows Server and Linux virtual machines on VMware/vCenter; manage storage and capacity, document dependencies, and safely retire unused systems.
  • Troubleshoot firewalls, routing, NAT, VPNs, VLANs, switches, DNS and TLS from live evidence; perform physical installation work and help execute datacenter migration cutovers and rollback plans.
  • Support Windows and Mac device management and administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint/OneDrive and related security settings.
  • Improve monitoring coverage and alert quality so actionable failures reach a responder.
  • Write PowerShell or Python tools that automate repeatable work and retrieve live state; review AI-generated output and verify that it is safe before use.
  • Document systems and changes as you work, coach junior teammates, and collaborate with development, DBA and India-based engineering teams where infrastructure intersects their work.
Must-have Qualifications
  • 3–8 years of hands-on infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
  • Hands-on Windows Server and VMware vSphere/vCenter administration.
  • Actual administration of Active Directory and Entra ID, including groups, service accounts, SSO, MFA and access reviews.
  • Working knowledge of subnetting, VLANs, routing, NAT, DNS, TLS, VPNs and next-generation firewalls.
  • Enterprise backup experience with Veeam or a comparable product, including personally performing restores.
  • Microsoft 365 administration experience.
  • Ability to write useful tools in PowerShell or Python.
  • Clear runbooks, change plans and status updates that technical colleagues and directors can understand.
  • Systematic troubleshooting: isolate variables, verify against authoritative sources and acknowledge uncertainty.
  • Security judgment covering least privilege, credential protection and care with data subject to legal hold or privacy constraints.
  • Ability to work independently in undocumented environments and learn unfamiliar areas quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fortinet firewalls.
  • Infrastructure as code using Terraform, Bicep, Ansible or similar tools.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or other deployment pipelines.
  • SQL basics or development experience.
  • Linux administration.
  • Intune, Autopilot and Apple Business Manager.
  • Monitoring improvements and alert-noise reduction.
  • Datacenter migration or consolidation.
  • Experience reducing dependence on a single person’s knowledge.
What We Offer
  • Ownership of substantial infrastructure work, from investigation through delivery and documentation.
  • Hands-on involvement in an active datacenter migration.
  • Opportunities to automate recurring work and improve how systems are operated.
  • Collaboration across infrastructure, development, database and India-based engineering teams.
  • Opportunities to coach teammates and share technical judgment.
  • A working environment that uses AI tools and expects careful human verification.
Honest Challenge

This is a senior, hands-on role with an expectation of early technical delivery. Some systems are undocumented. You will need to establish what actually runs, verify behavior from live systems, and leave usable documentation behind. Physical infrastructure work requires access to the Cape Coral office and datacenter.

Application development, deployment pipelines and database administration sit with the development and DBA teams; you will collaborate where their work meets infrastructure.
