Job summary

X-energy is seeking experienced Systems Engineers in Gaithersburg, MD to execute rigorous MBSE-driven processes supporting complex nuclear systems across lifecycles. You will verify and validate product requirements, document design decisions and system interfaces, and ensure alignment with project goals.

You will lead small engineering teams, mentor juniors, manage risks, and contribute to cost analyses and optimization within X-energy's quality framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial, systems or related engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Multiple levels of experience (II–VI) in engineering roles as described.
• Master's or PhD may substitute years of experience as indicated.

This role is responsible for executing rigorous systems engineering processes to support the design, integration, and management of complex nuclear systems throughout their lifecycles. Working within established model-based systems engineering frameworks, this position ensures all system components work together effectively and meet project requirements.
