Job summary

Prattwhitney is seeking candidates for a software engineering role focused on developing C++ models for advanced modeling techniques. The position demands a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field alongside a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Champions novel solutions for advanced modeling techniques.
  • Develop new C++ models in an extensible and maintainable fashion.
  • Deploy EO or RF phenomenology and advanced physics principles in software implementations.
  • Enable customers’ success through adoption and utilization of modeling solutions.
  • Work efficiently inside an established software product, across programming languages, and build environments.
  • Research and develop novel EO or RF modeling solutions.
  • Coordinate with multiple development teams to prioritize and solve complex software and physics problems.
  • Mentor and share EO or RF expertise with the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience applying object‑oriented software design in C++, C, and using MATLAB or Python for data set evaluation.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux or Apple OS or Windows DOS command line.
  • Experience in electro‑optics or radar processing, Imaging EO/IR/RF systems, energy transport, radar physics, signal processing and/or discrimination algorithms.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret U.S. government issued Security Clearance prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related STEM field.
  • Experience with OpenGL, CUDA, or other GPU accelerated languages/architectures and Scene Generation/Sensor Modeling technologies.
  • Experience with electronic warfare modeling, developing signal processing algorithms for missile applications, signal & image processing, digital communications, or estimation theory, or AI/ML and training techniques.
  • Experience with real‑time programming, software change management tools and processes, using and augmenting build systems (Make/CMake), and working with large production software environment.
  • Experience interfacing with adjacent engineering disciplines (Signal Processing, Systems Engineering, Hardware Engineering).
Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) matching, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Additional incentive compensation may apply at level and collective‑bargaining agreement.
