Job summary

Advanced Acoustic Concepts, LLC, a Thales Defense & Security subsidiary, seeks an engineer to analyze, design, develop, and implement new and existing systems and subsystems. Responsibilities span architectural design, requirements engineering, and coordinating with hardware and software teams.

Key tasks include delivering assignments on time and within budget, designing and testing products, and communicating progress to customers. Travel up to 30% may be involved.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Competent technical expertise and domain knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned tasks on time and within budget.
  • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems.
  • May use CAE or related design/analysis software.
  • Report progress and status regularly.
  • Review customer specifications and develop designs to support them, including cost as a key variable.
  • Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments.
  • Communicate clearly with company personnel and customers.

Position Summary

Involved with the analysis, design, development and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems. May include Architectural Design, Requirements Engineering, or others. Determine system specifications. Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed).

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technical activity and completion of assigned task on time and budget
  • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments.
  • Report of progress and status regularly
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
  • Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Participates in preparation of less-complex proposals
  • May provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge
  • Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting (up to 50 lbs.): up to 25% of time
  • Walking: up to 25-50% of time
  • Climbing, Bending, Standing, Stooping: up to 10% of time
  • Sitting: up to 50% of time
  • Travel: up to 30% of time
