Job summary

RTX is seeking a qualified engineer at the Tucson, AZ site to support sustainment and depot functions for DoD programs. The role requires collaboration across multiple engineering disciplines to ensure long-term product support and readiness.

Responsibilities include coordinating repair work, advising on spares and substitutions, and participating in program and design reviews. A DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related STEM field obtained by start date.
  • Experience or coursework in System Design.
  • Experience with depot functions and/or logistics.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Synchronize depot functions – receiving/induction, spares provisioning, repairs, end-item and subassembly, plant clearance, sales, and shipping.
  • Provide sustainment engineering support for developmental and legacy programs to achieve long-term product sustainment strategies and planning.
  • Act as a liaison with Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Test, Materials and Processes, and Structural design functions.
  • Assist with supportability analyses and provide inventory recommendations, including spares, excess scrap, and substitutions.
  • Collaborate across factory and logistics teams to resolve shipping backlogs.
  • Coordinate with Depot Coordinator and Operations to facilitate factory hardware repair work.
  • Engagement in peer reviews, program reviews, design reviews, failure review boards, investigation teams, warranty claims and working groups.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience or coursework in System Design.
  • Experience with depot functions and /or logistics.

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Ability to review technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with existing standards
  • Ability to identify concerns, suggest solutions, and follow through to closure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ILS processes, including sustainment and supportability principles and concepts.
  • Prior RTX internship, co‑op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
