Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation in Indianapolis is seeking a Systems Engineer to design, develop, and validate residential HVAC systems and components. This role collaborates with lab, manufacturing, and product engineering teams to deliver high-performance, manufacturable solutions.

The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering and 1–3 years of experience in analysis, troubleshooting, and design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with at least 3 years of experience in engineering analysis and design.
• OR Master’s degree with at least 1 year of engineering analysis and design experience.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience in HVAC system design or related field.
• Experience with design of experiments and data analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of material science and reliability engineering fundamentals.

Position Overview

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and validation of residential HVAC systems and components. This role supports innovation initiatives and works cross‑functionally with laboratory, manufacturing, and product engineering teams to deliver high‑performance, manufacturable solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field and at least 3 years of experience with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and design
• OR Master’s degree and at least 1 year of experience with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and design

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics
• Experience in HVAC system design or related field
• Knowledge of material science and reliability engineering fundamentals
• Experience with design of experiments and data analysis techniques
• Experience with CREO CAD software

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short‑term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
