Bart & Associates, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Enterprise Database Infrastructure Services at any DLA Location. If you are interested and meet the qualifications below, we encourage you to apply for this exciting and impactful opportunity.

Onsite/hybrid at multiple U.S. locations including VA, OH, PA, MI, and others, with a strong focus on database management, security, DR/COOP, and high availability for critical DoD systems.

Qualifications

  • Five years of professional experience in engineering.
  • Five years of experience working with DLA IT systems.
  • Roles: Database Architect, Replication Expert, Encryption Expert, LDAP/Certificate Authentication Expert, Disaster Recovery/COOP Expert, Database Security Expert, High Availability Expert
  • Experience planning and delivering large technology projects in DoD environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provisioning, operation, installation/configuration and maintenance of systems hardware/software/infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and hands-on delivery for databases.
  • Participate in R&D to enable innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Ensure systems comply with organizational values and regulatory requirements.
  • Document specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results.
  • Communicate objectives, scope and status to project teams.

Job Summary

B&A is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Enterprise Database Infrastructure Services at any DLA Location. If you are interested and meet the qualifications below, we encourage you to apply for this exciting and impactful opportunity.

  • Anticipated Start: February 2027
  • Period of Performance: 1 Base Year + 2 Option Years
Location

Onsite/hybrid at any one of the following DLA locations: Dayton, OH; Columbus, OH; New Cumberland, PA; and Philadelphia, PA; Battle Creek, MI; Fort Belvoir, VA; Ogden, UT; or Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, operation, installation/configuration and maintenance of systems hardware/software/related infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support, guidance and hands‑on delivery in the planning, implementation and ongoing operation of databases.
  • The Systems Engineer shall participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values and regulatory requirements.
  • The Systems Engineer shall document specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results.
  • Depicts complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; communicates project objectives, scope and status to project teams.
Education and Experience
  • Five (5) years of overall professional experience in the engineering field.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience working with DLA IT systems.
  • Experience serving in the following roles/functions:
    • Database Architect
    • Replication Expert
    • Database Encryption Expert
    • LDAP/Certificate Authentication Expert
    • Disaster Recovery/COOP Expert
    • Database Security Expert
    • High Availability Expert
  • Expert knowledge and practical experience within DoD IT database management technology stacks, including planning and implementing database and/or Application Server implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience planning, implementing, and negotiating large‑sized technology projects supporting business initiatives.
  • Experience initiating, planning, mentoring, executing, controlling, and delivering working projects.
Required Certifications
  • Current DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II
  • Current Computing Environment (CE) Certification - at least ONE of the following:
    • Oracle OCP (10g or higher)
    • Oracle OCP 19c or higher
    • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP): DBA
    • MCSE: SQL Server
    • MCSA: SQL Server or higher
    • Azure Database Associate or higher
Security Clearance
  • Active Secret, adjudicated within the last five (5) years
