Job summary

RTX is seeking an intern/coop software engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA to design, develop, and test software for helicopter and aircraft systems. You will join a compact team of systems and software engineers delivering integrated solutions for the aerospace industry.

You will apply C/C++ and Python skills, and will draft requirements while gaining exposure to aviation software standards; occasional domestic/international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a STEM degree and actively enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Willingness to draft system or software requirements.
• Exposure to avionics or related flight systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for software solutions that are integrated into helicopters and planes.
• Integrates softskills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
• Travel domestically and internationally <10% as needed.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
